With Christmas and New Year fading into memories, and event season approaching as sure as January rain, TTK is excited to share its refreshing new approach to event employment. See the following statement from our CEO regarding these exciting changes:
TTK is upping the game in 2023! We are setting new standards for fairer conditions within event work. Gone are the days when we were a group of volunteers popping up here and there to help people through a bad time. We are now professionals in what we do; we are trained, we are experienced, and there is value to what we offer. That is reflected in the fact that TTK team members are no longer volunteers. They are paid a fee for the fantastic work they do.
Once a new team member has completed apprentice training, depending on their skill level and experience, they will be paid a fee equivalent to, or even more than the national minimum wage. But more than that – all members of the TTK Team will receive breaks and meals during their shift, and access to staff parking and camping.
So, when a festival or event comes to us and expects volunteers for next to nothing - they’re going to get a surprise.
It is important to us that any person with the generosity and dedication to go the extra mile in supporting those around them, receive a fair fee, fair ‘perks’, and the chance to keep TTK Welfare at the forefront push for fairer work in the event industry. In 2023 we hope to see many new faces wearing our purple hi-viz with pride.”
